Abstract leverages ZKsync's zero-knowledge rollup technology to offer lower transaction fees and enhanced scalability, aiming to make blockchain applications more accessible to a wider audience.

Making Crypto Easier: Abstract's Focus on User Experience

Abstract's mainnet launch marks a significant step towards realizing Igloo's vision of a consumer-focused blockchain platform. The network boasts native account abstraction, a feature that simplifies the user experience by allowing for email or social logins, recovery mechanisms, and passkey support. This contrasts with the often-complex process of managing private keys typically associated with crypto wallets.

The Portal: Your One-Stop Shop for Abstract Dapps

Alongside the mainnet launch, Abstract also unveiled "The Portal," a consumer blockchain platform that allows users to create a wallet and instantly access a growing ecosystem of decentralized applications (dapps) with just a single email address. The project claims that over 100 community-created apps are already available on the platform.

The development of Abstract was preceded by Igloo's $11 million funding round, which included backing from the Founders Fund. In June 2024, Igloo also acquired Frame, another Layer 2 project, integrating its technology into Abstract's infrastructure.
